Subaru BRZ STI Officially Teased Aug 5th 2013, 10:07
Finally, it seems that there is going to be an official upgrade package for the Subaru BRZ, and it is the work of the good folks at Subaru Tecnica International (STI). They just revealed the first teaser shots of the upcoming BRZ STI on their website, and they are promising good stuff.
As we have seen before on the concept and market-specific models, the STI-tuned BRZ will get uprated suspension and brakes, new wheels, a subtle body kit, and a couple of interior modifications. They will be available as a full package or individual parts, you can spec up your BRZ they way you like it.
Chances are there won’t be any upgrades for the engine included in the STI treatment, which is sad, because we are hearing some rumors that Toyota too has binned their plans for a more powerful version of the GT86, at least for now. Subaru does however promises better handling. Last time we checked handling was the only true great thing about the BRZ/GT86. They just should have given it more power!
The BRZ STI will probably first launch in Japan. Details of the package and its availability in different markets will be revealed later – probably at IAA.
